General meetings, which include lunch, are usually held from noon to 3:30 pm in October, December, March/April, May. For members in good standing in attendance, a year’s membership in NCTE is raffled off.  Topics are timely, germane and determined through input based on the membership’s expressed needs and interests. All meetings offer opportunities for scholarly and professional exchange, personal and professional growth, opportunities to showcase special talents and knowledge, communication of relevant up-to-date information, sharing of ideas and materials, networking, learning from stimulating speakers, congeniality and collegiality. Meeting hosts often give away valuable materials.
